Arirang Radio
Before Capture That Media, Roger Wong Won spent a year on the air in Seoul as an English-language talk-show host at Arirang Radio — Korea's international broadcaster. From behind the glass: live and pre-recorded programming, guest interviews, driving the desk, and original music and audio packages for the on-air competitions. The broadcast craft that still shapes how CTM produces sound and story.

2010–11
A year on air as an English-language host in Seoul
Live
Presented live + pre-recorded programs, driving the desk
Global
Arirang — Korea's international English broadcaster
The problem
Arirang's English service carries Korea's culture, music, and stories to an international audience — which means every show has to land for listeners across dozens of countries and first languages, live, with no second take. The bar: broadcast-grade presentation, tight production, and segments that travel.
Our approach
Presented live and pre-recorded programming — hosting full shows and segments, from news to reviews of music, film, and books
Researched, booked, and interviewed guests; pitched ideas, wrote cues, and updated scripts as a creative voice on the show
'Drove the desk' for live and pre-recorded broadcasts — running the board, timing, and transmission
Produced original music for the on-air competitions and edited audio packages in digital editing software; assisted with music scheduling
Ran the English-language social presence and coordinated guest visits, phone-ins, and competitions
The outcome
A year of live broadcast reps that became foundational craft — presentation, interviewing, scripting, sound design, and production discipline under an on-air clock. The instincts Roger built behind the Arirang mic now run through every CTM brand film, podcast, and campaign.
On the ground
This was my year on the mic. I hosted English-language radio at Arirang in Seoul — presenting live and pre-recorded shows, interviewing guests, driving the desk, and producing the music for our on-air competitions. A year of live broadcast with no second takes teaches you timing, voice, and how to hold an audience. Those are the same instincts I bring to every film, podcast, and campaign at CTM today.
